Founded in 1986 by Kyogen and Gyokuko Carlson, Dharma Rain Zen Center is a Soto Zen temple in northeast Portland dedicated to lay practice. Located at 8500 NE Siskiyou Street, it offers Sunday morning zazen open to all, Wednesday evening classes on foundational Zen teachings, and residential practice periods. Multi-day retreats focus on Dogen's writings, ancestor study, and seasonal observances.
