One Continuous Thread: Home Practice Intensive
Soto Zen
Week-long online zazen intensive that broadcasts live sesshin teachings from Zen Mountain Monastery while you sit at home. Designed for practitioners who want sesshin-style practice without residential commitment.
About this retreat
This retreat takes a live-stream format: ZMM is holding its regular week-long sesshin, and you participate remotely, watching teachings and sitting along with the schedule from home. It's not a separate program but access to the monastery's formal practice, transmitted via webcast.
The structure keeps you anchored to the sesshin timeline while you manage work, family, or other commitments. You're not in the room, so there's no dokusan, no oryoki meals, no shared schedule on the grounds — but you receive the teaching and can sit in sync with the practice periods happening at the monastery.
At $10, this is a nominal fee. Contact the center if you need clarity on what "home-based intensive" means in practice — how many hours of live viewing are expected each day, whether you choose your own sitting schedule or follow ZMM's periods, and what support (if any) the center offers to remote participants.
