Precepts II – The Practices of a Bodhisattva

with Jody Hojin Kimmel · Mahayana

Mahayana day-sit beginner-friendly

One-day retreat on the Bodhisattva vow and the Paramitas (Perfections), exploring bodhicitta and compassionate action. Open to beginners and experienced practitioners.

This one-day retreat focuses on the Bodhisattva path — the Mahayana commitment to work for the liberation of all beings, not just oneself. The retreat studies two core concepts: bodhicitta (the awakened mind or heart of compassion) and the Paramitas or Perfections, the six or ten practices that cultivate this commitment over time.

A day-long format allows for a concentrated exploration of these teachings without the intensity of a multi-day sesshin. Expect a mix of sitting meditation, study, and discussion. This is introductory work, accessible whether you've been sitting for years or are new to practice.
