This retreat brings sesshin structure into your home. Rather than traveling to the monastery, you receive a live webcast feed of Zen Mountain Monastery's formal sesshin and build your own zazen schedule around your existing commitments. The format assumes you have a quiet space to sit and the discipline to follow through — there's no residential container to hold the practice.

The week begins with opening guidelines via Zoom, setting the frame. Throughout the intensive, optional teacher meetings are available; check the signup page for how those are scheduled and whether dokusan or group instruction is offered. The live webcast lets you sit alongside the monastery community in real time, though the experience is necessarily different from being present in the hall.
