Fall Sesshin at Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Retreat Center

This is a five-day sesshin — an intensive Zen retreat, the word meaning roughly “gathering the mind” — run by Zen Center of Denver and held at the Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Retreat Center near Ward, Colorado, October 5–10, 2027. Two teachers lead it: Geoff Baoku Keeton and Cathy Seizan Wright. That, plus the venue, is the extent of what the center has published; the listing is explicitly marked “Details pending.”

The practices named are the recognizable core of a formal sesshin: zazen (seated meditation), dokusan (a private meeting with the teacher), teisho (a formal dharma talk given by the teacher), and chanting, with vegetarian meals as part of the retreat. No daily schedule — wake time, number of sitting periods, rest — has been announced, so it isn’t possible yet to describe what the days will actually look like. The center also hasn’t stated its lineage or anything about either teacher.
