One-day silent sitting led by Zoketsu Norman Fischer and senior Everyday Zen teachers. The schedule includes zazen, silent lunch, a Dharma talk with discussion, and dokusan (private meetings with teachers).
About this retreat
Everyday Zen is SFZC's lay-focused practice lineage, rooted in Soto Zen but shaped for people with jobs and families. Zoketsu Norman Fischer is a longtime Zen teacher and writer; he leads the community's public-facing practice and dharma talks. This all-day sit is structured around traditional zazen (sitting meditation) and kinhin (walking meditation), with a silent communal lunch and individual dokusan slots — a chance to bring questions or observations to a teacher one-on-one.
The center has not published the full schedule, so contact them for sitting-period timing, arrival and departure windows, and what to bring.
