Monterey Bay Zen Center is a Soto Zen community founded by Sobun Katherine Thanas Roshi in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi. Guided by a rotating council of four teachers, it offers regular zazen, dharma talks, and instruction at two locations: Carl Cherry Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea (Tuesday evenings) and McGowan House in Monterey (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday mornings, Friday midday). Drop-in practice is available.
