Saturday One-Day Sitting, GGF 10/24

This is a single-day group sit at Green Gulch Farm Zen Center (Green Dragon Temple), listed as in person and priced at $125. The format is what the title says: one full day devoted to sitting meditation, with formal meals taken in the zendo (the meditation hall). The description frames the day as a chance to step outside everyday busyness, resettle, and clarify what is most important — plain aims for a day of sustained sitting, with no theme or program attached.

The listing is explicit that the day is for people with prior Zen practice experience, so it functions as a return-to-form day rather than an introduction. Eating formally in the zendo reinforces that: the day keeps temple-style structure rather than running as a casual drop-in sit. If you are new to Zen practice, the listing does not describe instruction or a beginners' track for this date.

Much of what you would want to know before registering is not published in the listing: no teacher is named for the day, and the schedule — start and end times, number of sitting periods, whether there are talks or meetings with a teacher — is not given. The $125 price is listed without a breakdown of what it covers. Contact the center through sfzc.org for those details before registering.
