One-Day In-Person Sit
with Sarah Dōjin Emerson
One-day silent sit at Brooklyn Zen Center led by Sarah Dōjin Emerson. Schedule includes zazen, kinhin, soji (work practice), service, and a dharma talk. Open to all levels.
About this retreat
A straightforward one-day sit in the traditional format. You'll spend most of the day in zazen (seated meditation) broken up by kinhin (walking meditation), with soji (communal work practice) and service woven in. Sarah Dōjin Emerson teaches the dharma talk, which typically comes mid-day or toward the end.
This is a good entry point if you've never sat a full day, or a way to maintain practice if you can't get to a longer retreat. Six or seven hours of sitting, with structure and community, but home by evening.
